About Maree

Maree Nunn smiling and wearing glasses, holding a purple journal titled "My Next Best Seller" in a room with artwork, plants, and a sparkling sequined tablecloth.

Fast forward to 2026 my century old cottage, sparkle, colour and a very contented me.

The beautiful Amber, who rules the roost and is a constant source of joy, except at 4.30am when she decides it’s time to get up….

Maree Nunn is an author based in that wonderfully untamed part of the world that’s so often missed off the map — Tasmania.

Her debut book, The Star Kids, is a story close to her heart as fairness and kindness, the hallmark of this book, matter to her too. The Star Kids is a story for loss families to shimmer with their beautiful child in the stars as they join with children on earth and magic happens... She truly hopes it will help loss families, as they turn the pages, laugh and recognise their child, “oh that’s so her” - “oh I could imagine him doing that” and for that moment, get lost in a beautiful connection with their child.

When she's not writing, Maree can usually be found pottering around her century old cottage, chatting to her family in the stars on her deck or working hard as an executive assistant.

She loves exploring her lovely island state, cooking up a storm, and as a very special treat, jumping on a plane to her two favourite places in the world, Scotland and Canada to visit family. Well, that’s if the magnificent beast that is her cat Amber, grants her permission to go.

The Star Kids is the first of hopefully many stories to come, and Maree can't wait to share more of her world with readers everywhere.

The Star Kids is available now. If you are friends with Maree and can arrange to collect the book, in the “Discount or gift card” section of the payment, pop FRIENDSOFMAREE in there so the postage charge is waived.

For people wanting to purchase in the UK or CANADA/USA there is a link in the Shop to purchase directly.

It’s so exciting!

From 2000 to 2026 - still scribbling...

One of my favourite photos, 1999 writing on a Whitsunday beach whilst travelling Queensland solo. Back in the day it was point, click and hope for the best two weeks later…
